Steve Breiting's Speedster

Steve's speedster was on display at a speed equipment workshop that he hosted in February 2000.

The 1928 Model A frame has numerous modifications to it. It has been extended 24" in front of the front cross member and a new spring perch has been mounted. A Model A radiator that has been shortened 2" will go behind the heart-shaped grill opening.

The engine and center cross member have been moved back 10". A Riley Two-Port equipped Model B engine will drive a 1939 transmission with Lincoln Zephyr gears. The rear axle has been moved forward 18". The drive shaft is now 23" long.  The rear axle has a 1939 quick change center section in it.

The sheet metal body was built by Al Swedberg of Chehalis, WA. The steering wheel is a "fat man" style. It has a lever that releases it so it can be moved up and out of the way.
The seats are 1937 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery as is the gas tank that will go in the car.
In the picture below you can see the fat man steering wheel has been released and raised to allow easy entry into the car.
