Description :
In the late 1930’s, this Stagger Valve was converted by Louie Schneider to a straight DOHC configuration by replacing the cams-intake on one bank and exhaust on the other & fabricating new manifolds. This SV was run in the #23 IMCA car owned by Swan Peterson. The engine ended up with Joe Gemsa in the 1960’s, who sold it to Harrahs. Most SV heads suffered from cracks in the valve seats to the spark plugs, usually in the #2 cylinder. Increasing the size of the radiator to improve cooling would have helped. The original Arthur Chevrolet stagger valve patterns were destroyed in a fire. | |||||||||
