Tail Planking

How should the Tail be trimmed ?  Should it be in Yellow Cedar, Dark Red Cedar, or something else ??

I concluded from the above 2  models and the pictures below that I liked the tail to end in yellow cedar. I thought it looked faster if it did not have the tail trimmed in Dark Red Cedar.

I also concluded that I did not like a strong stripe from the differential up to the frame stripe.

I do think some protection is advisable for the tail and bottom rear.  On boats we often cover the stem with a hard brass trim piece.  I think that is the right solution here.  It hides the rear joint line, but it is near enough to the Yellow Cedar color so that it does not grab your eye.
