Starting the Strips

First the Stem is bent over the Strong Back. The stem is laminated with epoxy from 3 pieces of 5/16" thick old growth fir 2" wide.   I had planned to use a 4" wide stem, but I reduced the width to lighten the body and make the stem easier to shape.

The first strip went right on top of the Bottom Rear section

And the strips continued from there.  Every strip is glued to its neighbors with wood glue.  It takes about an hour for the glue to dry enough so that the clamps can be removed and the next strip installed.
